Foundation Hosts 2nd Annual Fall Festival

WHITE PLAINS, NY (October 2015)—The St. Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation hosted its 2nd Annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the John A. Coleman School and Children’s Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, N.Y.

Over 250 Coleman School students, Children’s Rehabilitation Center patients, their families, our neighbors and supporters in the community and staff came out to support this very special event. In addition, the White Plains Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 274 once again cooked their famous homemade chili for all of our attendees, the Town of Greenburgh Police Benevolent Association sponsored finger food from the Candlelight Inn in Scarsdale, a popcorn machine and bottled water for our guests and Willy Ryan, proprietor of Rooster’s Market, supplied delicious sandwiches for everyone.

The year’s Fall Festival featured festive games, food, arts and crafts, live music, a petting zoo, raffles and more. “We were so thankful to have such amazing participation from the entire St. Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation community,” said Maureen Tomkiel, Executive Director of the John A. Coleman School. “Despite the chilly day and even a few snow flurries, everyone came together for a truly heartwarming afternoon,” she said.

In total, the event raised over $50,000. “There was such an outpouring of support surrounding this year’s event – from our charitable sponsors to our families, both present and past,” said Brian Harrington, Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “Sunday’s event was a fundraiser, but in so many ways it felt like a family get together and that, in and of itself, is a huge gift.”
