Physical Therapy

The Pediatric Center’s physical therapists work with families to develop physical therapy plans that maximize each child’s ability to interact independently within his or her environment. To accomplish this, individualized treatment plans emphasize the development of a child’s:

  • Increased strength
  • Normal movement patterns
  • Range of motion
  • Coordination
  • Endurance

We encourage our children to develop functional gross motor skills by incorporating:

  • Therapeutic handling
  • Sensory integration
  • Motor planning
  • Neurodevelopmental treatment

Our physical therapy treatments also integrate:

  • Evaluation/fitting for orthotics and prosthetics
  • Ambulation training
  • Standing program
  • Use of specialized assistive adaptive equipment
