As one of the creative arts therapies, music therapy enables all of our children – even those with the most severe communication challenges – to express themselves and form connections. Music provides an avenue for children to communicate freely and uniquely and to connect with others, building self-esteem and optimizing their strengths. We help each child find their voice through the motivating power of music.
Our music therapy program is internationally recognized as a leader in innovative clinical practice, including the use of music therapy for children with disorders of consciousness, palliative care and the use of electronic music technologies for therapy. Our board certified music therapists provide a broad array of advanced clinical services that support children and families including family-centered therapeutic songwriting and recording, neurologic-based music therapy approaches to support rehabilitation, and palliative care and end-of-life music therapy.
Our music therapy program also serves as a center of excellence for the clinical training of students and professionals in the field of music therapy.
