December 2014 Newsletter

The entire St. Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation community has certainly been in the spirit this holiday season! This December has given us a chance to reflect on all of our blessings from 2014 and we sure do have a lot to be grateful for!

This past year has been monumental for the organizations that comprise the St. Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation. In August, we announced our plan to expand the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center to accommodate 32 additional ventilator-dependent children – a project that will begin in October 2015. We also celebrated the donation of the 317 North Street building and property by the North Street Community Partners in June, which houses the Coleman School and Children’s Rehabilitation Center, ensuring a permanent home for these organizations to provide critical educational and therapeutic services to many more children in the future. We are continually looking for ways to help more children who need our services and, this past year, we clearly laid the groundwork to be able to care for thousands more medically complex children in the future.

But of course, we’ve had help … from people like you! Thanks to our supporters and friends in the community – united in your protective and unwavering love for children with special needs – we raised nearly $150,000 at fundraising events, including our two new, signature events (our Block Party and our Fall Festival) and two external events held for the benefit of our children (“Ride for Our Children” and “We Bee Runnin””).

If you have donated your time and talent, or shared some of what you have with the children entrusted to our care, we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping to better their lives.
