August 2014 Newsletter

“Hazard Yet Forward,” a Seton Family motto, is a saying that our Continuum of Care lives by. While the future of healthcare is challenging and, at times, uncertain, we push on – keeping the needs of the more than 5,000 children we serve annually at the forefront of our minds. They are at the heart of every decision we make, which should come as no surprise considering what’s on the horizon for our Continuum of Care …

In this month’s e-newsletter, you’ll learn about the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center’s plan to expand to accommodate 32 additional ventilator-dependent children – a $24 million project. This expansion will enable us to serve a total of 169 children, including a total of 50 children who are dependent upon ventilators.

You’ll also get to find out more about a little boy named Shaun, who you might remember from our March e-newsletter. This month, you’ll get to know Shaun through a different lens: News12 Westchester’s lens, to be specific! In a special segment by News12 Westchester’s Lisa LaRocca, called, “Shaun’s Story,” you’ll see how the Children’s Rehabilitation Center, along with some of our affiliated specialists in the community, have come together to totally transform Shaun’s life.
